Dream away at the Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh, the image on this beautiful ballpoint pen. The Starry Night is a painting by the Dutch impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. It is painted in oil on canvas and measures 73 by 92 cm. It is considered one of his greatest masterpieces. It is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The painting is a night scene with yellow stars above a small town with hills. It is a view from an imaginary point over a village with a church tower and on the left a flaming cypress and on the right olive trees against the hills.
The painting is often associated with the words of Vincent van Gogh: "Why, I wonder, wouldn't the radiant dots in the sky be as easy to reach as the black dots on the map of France? He wrote this in a letter to his brother Theo sent from Arles on July 9 or 10, 1888.
